Scholarships

The Los Angeles Council of Charitable Gift Planners (LACGP) is offering three professional scholarships for the 2019 Western Regional Planned Giving Conference.

The conference scholarship application deadline is Monday, April 29, 2019.  Professional scholarships are available which will provide free conference registration to three current LACGP members, valued at $355 per scholarship.  The scholarship does not include hotel accommodations.  Only one individual from an organization may be awarded a scholarship.  The applicant may not have been a previous recipient of a LACGP scholarship.

Scholarship Criteria

Applicants for the professional scholarship must demonstrate they meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a current member, in good standing, of the Los Angeles Council of Charitable Gift Planners
  • Be one of the following:
    • An employee of a not-for-profit organization
    • Working in an allied profession (attorney, financial planner, accountant, etc.)
    • Currently seeking employment in any of the above fields
    • A board member or other volunteer at a not-for-profit organization
  • Provide a brief statement (1-2 paragraphs) describing how conference participation will be beneficial to the applicant and their organization.
  • Be able to attend the full conference on Thursday and Friday.
  • Be willing to volunteer at the 2020 Western Regional Planned Giving Conference and serve on a LACGP committee or serve as a mentor.  Volunteer service (to be mutually agreed upon) will commence upon acceptance of the scholarship. Volunteer opportunities included:
  • Serving on the:
    • 2020 Western Regional Planned Giving Conference Committee
    • Membership Committee
    • Marketing & Outreach Committee
    • Planned Giving 101 Workshop Committee
  • Serving as a Mentor in LACGP's Mentor/Protégé Program
